Karen, the first setting with the applique block seems to be 'more you', a way to put something of you into these blocks you have acquired. The second setting seems more 'me'- orderly, symetrical, usual.
I inherited 5 carpenters wheel blocks... So I am considering 9-patch or on-point too.... 7 blocks is a bit more difficult though....
I just discoverd your blog so I don't know your style. I'm very dedicated to handquilting so if this were my blocks I would decide to take the second design.
love the pink and green blocks - I have an old pink and blue nine patch in need of some tlc that I should haul out
My opinion, for what it is worth: The second option is more balanced and might be more true to the original artists design. You could use the 7th block on the back. Love the pink sashing. We will watch for your progess!
I love the first setting!
