Note the simplistic mottos so beloved by government bureaucracy. If anybody can think of one for the middle item that is on the door to my "office", do let me know and I will add it with alacrity. Will these displays win me any brownie points? They will not. I reside there as a stranger in a strange land.
Too tedious to explain why, but this sewing machine arrived Friday at Regular Work from the warehouse. I had chosen it weeks earlier, along with other broken-down items that the poor schools can get from the rich schools that have discarded them as unusable junk. It turns on and the needle goes up and down. Progress. But does anybody know what that thingie is sticking out to the left?
On the up side, had an absolutely delightful day yesterday working at the LQS. So busy, interesting, and fun.

THe thing on the machine looks like a clamp to hold something. I wonder what it could be??
I love that you can take quilts to your work. Some old tapestry quilts were decorating our lobby in the hospital where I work, and they got taken down this week. Hope they did not throw them away!! They are trying for an ultra-modern look. I want those tapestries if they are headed for the trash!!

Ohmigosh, that little yoyo baby is adorable!!! May have to steal that idea.... I am now the proud owner of 3 yoyo makers in different sizes. Glad you have that LQS job to offset the "regular" job.
Well, that is a little mystery piece, isn't is? Love the little quilts you have to brighten your work space.
I'll go with the clamp theory, but have no ideas beyond that.
I hope work improves sometime soon. In the meantime, enjoy your little quilts, they are pretty.
That machine looks like it has had some hard use. I wonder if the clamp held a magnifying glass? Your little quilts are so cute. I used to take a photo of a quilt to work and prop it so I could wander into quiltland when I needed to. I didn't have my own space, so a photo had to do. Amazing the little bit of relaxation that could bring.
I thought I'd seen every machine attachment (and bought most of them) but this one has me stumped.
How about for your unlabeled quilt: Thank God I get to go home from here! Seriously, I hope for better days for you. It sooo sucks to not look forward to your work day.
How about "Check it out" or "check in to ..." (insert what you want them to check in to) I really like your little quilts. Hope work gets better for you.
How about, door sign stating "Seeing is Believing." I've no idea what the left side attachment is. Perhaps a square rod slid through it.

Sorry I can't help, but I am here...
That little gadget is a fingerguard. It slips down to encase the needle, and to keep students fingers from getting caught in the needle when sewing. I have a machine that has one. Works well for free motion quilting, without a foot.
