Mother: "Timothy, this is your mother. What is that thing on your bedroom floor?"
Timmy: (thinking) "Uhhh...."
Mother: "Just tell me one thing: is it, or has it ever been, alive?"
Timmy: "Oh, that's my catfish pillow."
(well, of course. I should have known that)
Mother: "When are you leaving for boot camp again?"
Timmy: "Soon, Mommy, soon."
Ugh, here it is. Imagine seeing this in low light conditions. I swear it looks like its bloated stomach is rising and falling:

That kid is a character--- only a mother with 2 college kids could relate...love the blocks. I'm so glad youare writing these 'kid' stories down....
And why wouldn't it be a catfish pillow *s* Kids!
Congrats to the soon-to-be Leatherneck . . . . I keep a very special place in my heart for all young Marines - they are just the best!
As a mother of 3 grown sons, I can relate! Never a dull moment!
A catfish pillow?! What a hoot!
Ewwwww! I'm thinking you forgot the key question: And just WHY do you have a catfish pillow??? KIDS!
A pillow? Just what every young man wants is to have a catfish pillow.
You are moving along on those DJ blocks. How many to go yet?
My goodness, that does look like a real fish! And catfish are so ornery looking too.
Leave it to the cat to sniff out the fish.
Catfish pillow - who knew those suckers existed?
That is so funny! I think he set you up! Is the fish going to bootcamp?
Your DJ blocks are amazing!
Are you swimming to work today?
I've seen those pillows when we go to Bass Pro, they come in other types of fish too, they are creepy looking! Boys will be boys!
You are making great progress on your DJ. You might inspire me to make one yet!
I like that pillow, but I like your DJ blocks even more.
Kids keep life very interesting, don't they?
I am so glad to hear you survived! And I'm still laughing out loud.
The pillow is hilarious and I lvoe your blocks...so pretty!

The blocks are beautiful.
The fish - real and stuff or fabric and stuff - is simply awful!Men are too weird. Moms are saints.
Oh - I can see it now. In the future - a small ittle church filled with happy people, a handsome young groom in full dress uniform, lovely young bride in Vera Wang. Mom crying with joy into the bridal quilt she made them. That night the groom escorts his bride into their honeymoon suite and there is a catfish pillow!
"But, honey, it's our wedding night! I can't sleep on the couch!"
I have to say Karen that I'm with you on this one - it looks very very lifelike to me, and with teenage boys, well you just never know :o)))
LOL at the pillow!!
Your paitience is amazing for those DJs.
Love the fabrics in your DJ blocks...
Karen: I did not get to met you while I was in Marietta... I try to take your class... oh well... we will meet some time... maybe my next trip home. I did go to the quilt show twice... once with my Mom and then with my sil... Had a great time... both are non quilters.
Today I am going to my local quilt guild show... Orange County Quilt Guild...
We had a got trip even with the rain... so stay dry!
Emily Gail/ Huntington Beach who want to live in Marietta
