Mid-July and Counting

It has been so hot:
But yesterday, we got some serous relief and it has been heaven: overcast, temperatures lower than a citywide oven, and even some a bit of rain. Heaven.

Made this tote (pattern in current Quilts magazine). The photo is Marcie Patch's grandfather, 1907, thank you for letting me borrow it, Marcie!

The latest BB CW block:

So strange. The advertisement on the right side of Flickr when I posted this on the Civil War Quilts group was about being careful at a railroad crossing. Which is the name of this block. But I didn't say so. How did the troll engines know that?

Love the tote and that block is awesome!

I think they are using the same type of tech as the facial recognition software for other things now too. Another friend of mine posted a pic of some strawberry jam she made and it knew it! :)

LOVE the block!!!!! We have had a couple of very hot days and no rain for weeks, but tomorrow calls for 60% chance of rain. My fingers are crossed!

Oh those trolls! They always make me wonder. Your RR Crossing block is so cute! Of course I love your bag with my grandpa on it! And Rembrandt looks beat. Can't believe she fits on the window like that!

Rembrandt really reminds me of a lovely cat,Sarah, that I used to have. They have such similar colouring and markings. I think your Civil War blocks are great , I particularly like the block with the ruler fabric.

Rembrandt looks to be enjoying the much-needed respite from the heat! What a clever tote pattern. Love the dynamic fabric you picked for the handle.

Ohhh, I want to make that tote. It's terrific. Is it in the August issue of Quilt Magazine? I looked while in the store this morning, but did not see it.
