Over the River and Through the Woods

Hope everybody had a wonderful Thanksgiving; Vogel State Park was so nice that my son and I went up there for a few days over Thanksgiving. I fixed the meal as low-fat, no-fat, Splenda-ized as possible and do you know, it was all absolutely delicious. We did some rugged hikes, one a loop trail out from the park up to a view of Lake Vogel:

I saw this needlework frame and hoops at an antique mall in Hiawassee on the first trip and went back and got it the second time. I love the little bit of age that it has and though it may have been intended as a needlepoint frame, I think it will work well for quilting wall hanging sized quilts:

I love the frames. I'm one of those shoppers who likes to think about purchases too. But living out of town where you shop, it makes shopping tough, Great pictures.

What a wonderul way to spend Thanksgiving! Lots of hiking should work off all the calories from the meal. Of course, you did say you Splenda-ized it, so not as many calories in your meal to begin with! Also enjoyed the show and tell in your last post.

Beautiful country -- a wonderful place to spend Thanksgiving.

I love to find pieces that show age -- I know they have have story they are trying to tell.

Great pictures - we never did make it to Brasstown Bald and your pictures make me regret we didn't make more effort.

My favorite thing about the 4 years we lived here in GA was the hiking.
