BOM and Alternates

The LQS BOM for this month:

and two of the three alternates, in 6" size:

I buy maybe one of the FQs for the alternates and use rest from stash. It'd be fun to use all of their choices but I just have so much fabric. I'm having trouble keeping up with the little 6" patriotic houses but am hoping to catch up on a few of them this month.

This blog and quilting is so good for my sanity. My job is the worst and quilting/blogging is such a bright spot among the horror of a miserable job.

I'm another who is begining to hate her job. I thought I would like it but now I don't. I have to buy a car. I love that little doll block, is it from a book?

Quilting and blogging really are great. Sorry you are unhappy with your job. I was in such a position about 8 years ago. After hearing me complain 'til he couldn't take it any more, hubby said just quit. I did and I haven't looked back. I know I am so blessed to not have to work - I am thankful every day. I hope a good solution is around the corner for you as well. Hang in there.

The block and progress on your quilt is terrific. Like you I was unhappy with my job - got laid off six years ago and now I'm self employed. I have to have alot of self discipline to work but I've been at for over 3 years and it seems to be working! Most have to work and it's a shame when we're unhappy. I'm truly sorry that you're unhappy! ;-)

Karen, I can feel for you, used to do the same work as you and felt pretty much the same way. Isn't it wonderful to have quilting and blogging as therapy? Are these blocks from Little Quilts?

The little girl block is so cute! It's amazing how healing quilting (and all things related) can be!

I hope your job situation improves. I'm glad to hear that quilting helps your sanity. I enjoy looking at all your pretty work, but I'm afraid quilting would drive me insane. I already have so many unfinished projects. Do you think Macrame will make a come back someday? Yes, I still have unfinished Macrame projects from circa 1972. I know...I'll start a Macrame blog. I'm sure it will be a huge success. :) :) Karen, I'm trying to make you smile today. Betty

I'm not working right now but I was lucky - I only had one job that I hated - I lasted 3 months before I left. I was fortunate to have a career with lots of options.
