Jo Morton Showed my Primitive Portraits at Market :-)

Jo Morton showed my three Primitive Portrait quilts at Market in Pittsburgh and I can tell you I am still walking on air about it (to tell the truth, I'm still in shock about it ha!)! Here is Jo's post about them; thank you Jo! and here are pictures of the Schoolhouse itself that Mary Ellen von Holt took when Jo was showing my primitive portraits: 





I was wondering all through Market what this showing might have looked like, so was absolutely thrilled to get these pictures; thank you, Mary Ellen!  

Here is my Berks County quilt hanging up back home in Little Quilts along with some kitted patterns:

Phew!  I am as delighted as you can imagine.  

Now here are two brochures that MJ in Michigan sent to me; they are from her visit to the International Quilt Museum in Nebraska.  Aren't they beautiful?  Thank you MJ!

Tiny Pinkeep

As soon as I spotted this Renée Plains bird pinkeep pattern on somebody's blog, I have been looking forward to making it. Fortunately, Little Quilts got this in right away:

I ordered the teeny beeny buttons on eBay and just received them.  Look how tiny their bag is!  I had to put the bag in a bag so I wouldn't lose it.  So will put the eyes on this afternoon and Pin Bird (note how cool the Jo Morton Harmonies is for this) will become more animated.

Diagrams Can Be Annoying

I've left notes for Timmy the past few mornings when I left for work, asking him to put Gaston the Tomcat outside if he sees him. Decided to present the request pictorially yesterday, to which Timmy added a comment:

Some Dear Jane Blocks are the A-Word

We had our first meeting of the new session of Dear Jane at Little Quilts; you can join in any time if you are in the area and are interested in making some Dear Jane blocks.

We worked on this E11 block in the Dear Jane group Thursday night. This is an interesting one because it can be made in different sequences. I believe we in the group are making this one at least three different ways:

I'm still new enough to hand appliqué that I'm absolutely delighted when a hand appliqué project is actually presentable.  This isn't one of the two that I need to make this week-end, however :-).

Unexpected Bonus

Now this was fun. I am working on a Repro Divas assignment (star quilt as an example of a certain historical style); these three would-finish-at-2 1/2" stars were not right for it.  Instead, they fit perfectly into the photo inserts of this bag.  I've been carrying this bag to work for years with the original Anonymous Photo People in the inserts :-).

Time to catch up from Mother's Day: at the trailhead for our Sunday hike, Timmy felt a certain lack of energy to start the hike. That'll happen when you never go to bed the night before:

But I kicked him ahead of me on the trail and we saw the sights:
