A Friend
You aren't going to believe this: a friend who very recently acquired this beautiful longarm setup:
let me come over today to quilt one of my UFOs. I can't describe what a thrill it was to use that glorious machine and to get a quilt that much closer to completion. Can you believe somebody being that generous??
Can you see my freehand feathers? I tell you, I was made to do machine quilting :-) .
The quilt pattern is Hula Huts, which was featured on a Simply Quilts and is on the HGTV website. I'm very fond of the crazy thing, but it is true that the color scheme got a little busy. This was something I had to work on in the early quilting years (like two years ago).

I love your Houses, Karen!! And aren't you lucky, to know someone that has a LA AND is so generous!! I know it must have been lots of fun to try it out...and your free-motion feathers are great!
What a fun treat to spend the day with a friend and using the long arm. The quilting it great -- I must agree, you were born to be a long armer *s* Looks great.
Cute quilt, Karen. Your friend is an Angel to let you use her machine! And, you did a wonderful job!
Lucky lucky you to get to try a long arm. And you did a great job! I love your houses.
How fun! I had my bee group over once and we all played on the longarm - it was always fun for me to have someone else playing with me.
You did a great job - will you get to go back over and play?
wow! If that's your first attempt at using the longarm, then you WERE made for it :-)
How wonderful and fun for you! I'd say you and that machine make great feathers together!!! How nice of your friend to share. Your quilt is very nice and I bet you are excited to have it almost finished now.
Cheers!
Evelyn
What a luscious looking machine and what a fantastic friend. Lucky you! Love the quilt. I remember seeing that episode of simply quilts. The guest was Lisa Boyer(spelling?)
Congratulations for this first try ! Beautiful. Now, you know that you can be an excellent long arm quilter !
How cool!!! You've done so well first time around. Great friend...
You lucky dog! I love how the sky in you huts gets darker - just like watching the sunset...
Hmm my houses quilt did not make it onto my "list"... (I plan to do "cat houses" - apparently it is just that, only a plan.)
Aha! Another person who has discovered the joy of a longarm. So will we find you the happy owner of one yourself before too long? Don't say never - that's what I always said because I was absolutely positive (1) I had no room for it, and (2) I could never afford it. I learned where there is a will there is a way. I agree - if that's how well you did on your very first try then you are definitely a born longarmer!
