BB Suffrage #12, Holiday Bliss, and Giveaway

Latest Barbara Brackman Grandmother's Choice, or as it is called in my little file, suffrageblock12:

This is the wonderful Victoria Classics Holiday Bliss that I recently won from Kimber at Heirlooms by Ashton House.  You know that Kimber is a very busy editor.  She edited many of the features in this magazine,
including the Cranwell Resort hotel profile:
and Winter Symphony, just to mention a few.  The magazine is so beautiful; be sure to get your copy:
And thank you, Kimber, for doing your giveaway.

Here is my giveaway: two copies of my book, A Bountiful Life.  Just mention in Comments what you treasure about the upcoming holidays:
Good Luck!  Rembrandt will choose the winners.  I will try to curb her hideous tendency to show favoritism.

Thanks for the chance! I love the time spent with family, especially this year after my fathers heart attack and my daughter's upcoming transfer 18 hours away! I also love the shopping! LOL. Happy holidays!

Thank you so much for the change. After I had seen Karen's version of Bountiful Life it's been just all I've been thinking about so I would love a chance to win!! I've actually been going through my stash and combing stores for the fabrics, but I hadn't purchased the book yet.

Oh forgot to mention what I treasure - just being with my family - that's the greatest gift.

This year, Thanksgiving will be with friends. We treasure the 48 years of friendship we have had. Family is very important too but we will not be able to see them until Christmas.

I am in awe of your creativity when it comes to your quilt blocks and quilts. Your ability to design with the computer is a special talent.

I hope you are getting good reports from your doctor.

I treasure my mom spending the holiday with us.

Of course I treasure all the traditional things; being with family, eating a great meal in 20 minutes that you spend all day getting ready, even being inside and watching it snow outside. I love thinking about all the holidays past and the memories of being a kid.
As an adult I am also thinkful for not pulling either holiday on 'call' at the hospital. This year I have Thanksgiving but not Christmas. Hey.
I am most thankful that Christ died for our sins and through his salvation we will live eternally with Him and those that also believe.
I would love a copy of your book. Thank you so much for the opportunity and Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to you.

Thankful for all blessings that flow from Christ our Savior. This time of year leads us to look at family.

Then we can get back to quilting...new book would be grand.

I treasure the stillness of Christmas Eve and Christmas morning before the kids wake up. And then I treasure the frenetic energy of family and friends visiting, eating, laughing, and being together!

I think Kimber is one talented woman! The magazine looks great.
Christmas has changed so much over the years with the kids grown. I still love to decorate and am already getting excited to do it after Thanksgiving;)

My favorite part of the holiday is home. I love to be home and this year I am taking a week's vacation just before our college closes for two weeks for Christmas. I shall wear pjs for at least a week! I love seeing my sons get excited about the holiday-I just asked my 7 yr old what holiday was coming up and he gleefully shouted Advent. I'm hoping the season will still be meaningful as my sons grow to men and are out in the world. Thanks for offering this giveaway.

I'm fairly traditional in what I treasure about the holidays - spending Christmas with the family all together, at least as many of us as possible, tops the list. Two of my children are in other states and can't always be here but everyone who can gets together for a special afternoon and dinner. And we always have a special dinner for Thanksgiving. Between the two, we all take the little ones to breakfast with Santa - so much fun!

What I treasure most about the holidays are the fond memories of our entire family coming together at my parents house. No matter where my two brothers and myself were living at the time, we all made the special trip HOME for Christmas.

Now that our parents are gone, we do manage to get together by telephone and "in person" by Skype to try to keep those memories alive. It is still a very special time of year for all of us and our families.

Thanks for the opportunity to win one of your books, Karen. I'm sure it's as wonderful as it looks!

Now that I live many, many miles away from my children it's the memories from celebrations of the past that keep me warm in my heart. New memories are being made with treasured friends and their families.

Hello Karen! I would be absolutely thrilled to have an autographed copy of your book to treasure but must say I would be sharing it with my other blog friend Karen of Log Cabin because she does amazing applique work (she is my go-to gal). The memories I most love are the ones I can look back and say to myself how truly blessed I was to have time spent with the ones I loved. It seems we take things for granted these days and we all need to just stop and take a moment to be truly thankful for family and friends. I often say (now that the kids are gone) I wish I can have a do-over or shall I say do-again? Much love....your in my thoughts.

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends during the holidays. Seeing the lights people have in their yards is fun. The special church services are always special. Would it help to tell Rembrandt I think she is one of the prettiest cats I've seen in Blogland? LOL

So sweet of you to tell about Kimber and her beautiful work. I already have your wonderful book, but I need an autograph! I treasure the opportunity to spend time with you in a week!

What do I treasure most about the holidays? Well, it's started already! People being kind to each other. I noticed the day before Thanksgiving when I was at the supermarket that people were more polite. Strangers wishing you a Happy or Blessed Thanksgiving, people opening doors, being a little more thoughtful or courteous to each other, etc. We all need to keep the Holidays or Christmas in our hearts all year round!

I don't need to be added to the drawing since I have your beautiful book, but I just had to tell you how fun your bloomers block is!!

There is so much to treasure. Time with family, good food, children's laughter, handcrafted gifts (given and received)and most of all the messages of thankfulness and hope for a peaceful future. Can you tell I love this time of year?
