Show and Tell was pretty spectacular at the local Vintage Design Study Group last night. We decided on our project schedule for the next three sessions, so we are pumped :-).
From the latest Bonanomi book:
Debbie F.'s beautiful, beautiful little quilt; this is part of Pam Buda's Prairie Women's Sewing Circle, Journey Two, originally an antique crib quilt shown in Sandi Fox's
Small Endearments:
Pattern-in-progress:
Cutwork from Wanda's Beginning Baltimore class:
Nancy P. brought in antique quilts!
This is lovely, not real bright, and notice the kicky blue and red border:
This month's project challenge was to build a quilt using one printed vintage sewing advertising block, picked at random, from Olde America Antiques:
Nancy C. happened to pick a block that matched her grandmother's antique sewing machine!
Beautiful colors, as Janice K. said, reminiscent of Nancy Klop's colorations:
Wow, beautiful prints and setting by Janice K.:

Okay, Ms. Karen, you are a very bad influence on me!!! I went to the website with the vintage pic quilt blocks and OMG! I saw so many I want to order. I have never seen anything quite like it. I especially like the Mark Twain blocks---so Missouri-ish! Can't wait to see your group's finished projects.
Oh, and that Maggie B. project is adorable.
I have seen those advertising blocks somewhere. What a good theme for a little challenge. Your little group sounds like it is very interesting and fun. How good that you found each other.
What a great idea - the advertising blocks are wonderful. Thanks for sharing!
What a fun challenge!! The printed pictures are so cool!!
All of those projects were wonderful to see.
What a great idea, love them all. That 9-patch is on my to-do list as well. I have always admired it in Sandi Fox's book.
What a terrific idea resulting in so many adorable projects.
You always have the best show and tells!
These are great! Darling pillow, and all the rest. Of course I adore medallions. Am I correct that yours in the first one with the mother and daughter? Wonderful!
