I am making the blocks 6" and will be popping photos of the finished blocks into the EQ diagram as I go. The signature star block might look nice in the four corners:
Thank you for doing this, Barbara, I had not yet gotten involved with any of the Civil War quilt projects that are available and I did want to make a quilt to commemorate it.

I'm in on this one too. One block a week will be a workable pace, and who better to follow than a true quilt historian?
Is the EQ chart available online or is it only for those with their own EQ program?

Good for you taking out those unnecessary seams. I don't like sewing the same fabric together,it's such a waste of time. I do like this block, so I might do it your way now.

I am all about this one as well! I can't tell you how excited I was when I read Barbara's blog and skipped over to her dedicated one.
Love your first block...will be cutting mine tonight and if all goes well (fingers crossed) I'll even fire up the sewing machine!
Your block turned out great...I drafted out the 6" one and am trying to decide which size to make. I'm so glad Barbara is sharing the blocks on her blog!
Barbara Brackman is amazing! I love that she is doing this, it is very generous. Your block looks so cute. I want to dive in also! On this and so many things! We are all nuts!
