Quilters are the Greatest. Cats are Mischievious.

When I asked her about a Christmas quilt displayed at Lolly's in Shipshewana that took my fancy (4th photo down in her post), Sue at The Monomaniacal Quilter, so kindly made a trip back there and got a color copy of the pattern, originally from Moda, and sent it to me! Many thanks, Sue! So I was gloating over this pretty pattern, Under the Mistletoe, that I now possess, when I thought, hey, don't I have some of this fabric? Fabric that I truly love? That I've never done anything with? Why yes, I believe I do:

So I will try to work these fabrics into the quilt, although there are not many duplications of the original fabrics.

Two more DJs:

Rembrandt, shown here, looking innocent...

...ran off with several of my earrings months ago before I gave up on flinging them onto a tray as I walked into the house after work. The tray was at the very top of a small (shall we say rickety) triangular shelf thing; I never saw her clamber up there but the earrings kept disappearing. Only one of a pair. The singles have languished in my jewelry drawer ever since, useless but still loved. Happened to glance into the mortar that is way back in the stovetop alcove and discovered one of them. The little blue ceramic bird that I love lol:

In closing, don't we all sleep with our faces against the window?

Love your choice of fabrics for Under the Mistletoe. I'm sure you'll work your magic with it.

Those darn cats. I am still trying to find 2 pair of earrings that I laid on the kitchen table. They are probably down the register vent!

LOL, birdwatching must be exhausting.

I didn't realize I was set to no-reply. Do you know how I change that?

Love the DJ blocks and the silly Rembrandt games!

The two DJ blocks are good! The one with the diamond shapes looks like a hard one. I like the focus fabric in the second block. Gives it interest.

No wonder you love that quilt - gorgeous! Your fabric choices are so pretty.

And it's nice you got one of your favorites back. I wonder how it got there and where your others went.

I keep some of my earrings I wear on a regular basis in a bowl I inherited from my Grandma. It's on a table in my bedroom. I keep losing earrings out of it, and find them months later in the strangest of places... not where I would keep them! (Like under the guest room bed, way back in the corner). Kittys... just gotta love them!

I love that quilt too
so many times I almost pushed the buy button for that kit when it was out
I never realized that they sold the pattern separately.

Oh that Rembrandt . . . . maybe you'll stumble upon another hidey hole someday *s*

How funny that the earring was in a mortar. Do you think the cats were contemplating grinding it up and sprinkling it on their cat food?

You're very welcome. I can't believe you actually have some of that fabric, that's great!

I'm just loving that kitty fabric in the DJ block.
If it weren't for the fact we know Rembrandt is a kitty, we could be almost positive he's a monkey!
Have a great day

I was with you and had my comment all ready until you got me at the end with that sweet face sleeping against the window!

Awesome that you have some of that fabric! My mom was so happy that they had the pattern at Lolly's for you! :) Those ladies there are so sweet, too. I'm glad it all worked out so well. I'll be checking back to see how it goes on the quilt! I am new to quilting so that is too big of a beast for me to tackle...
