Squares and Triangles

A good friend mailed me a yard of Desirable Fabric that she found on her travels; she requested a variety of reproduction squares in return, so I cut these up this morning before work:

Latest Stickle triangle:

Short visit with son, briefly home from his latest college campus:
son: "Hi, Mom! Short visit, I just need to get a shower and I'm off for the Officer Candidate School's Combat Fitness Test, then it's back to campus for a Very Important Football Game I'm playing in. [shower] Okay, Mom, I'm off, I'll be back on the 20th."
mom: "Why the 20th?"
son: "There's a military ball at Tech, and I'm taking this girl."
mom: "What girl? Is it that crazy girl?" [from earlier conversation]
son: "What crazy girl? Oh, her. Wow, she's seriously crazy. She's in [a southern town] now."
mom: "In a facility?"
son: [laughing] "No, Mom, at school!"
Son leaves and Mother realizes that she never found out who the dance girl is.

Karen...how can you send him to a school that doesn't have running water and showers on campus? :)

honestly karen...your killing me...that stickle triangle is a work of art...and the interaction with your son is almost as convoluted as the conversations i have with my girls...(who think i live in a constant state of confusion...and don't know why i can't remember the intricacies of their daily lives)...

The Stickle triangle is fabulous! Was it paper pieced?
Those squares look wonderful. I can't believe you'd take the time to cut them.

It's been awhile since I've visited your blog. Boy could we ever share college age kid stories...my son has been coming home on weekends just about pretty regularly since the new gal in town here! I scrolled down to catch up.....I think my son was living at your house during the holidays! Seriously.....what happens to them in school?! Then...the kicker....my son is considering taking a break from college for National Guard but since found out they met their quota so talked to a Marine recruiter! My son does fantastic in school....it makes me wonder what changes them? I guess they are finding themselves.

Thank you for the laugh. I enjoyed your post. What wonderful squares those are! So how many squares what size equals a yard of fabric? =)
