Journals and Link to Giveaway

Hey, the Greater Atlanta Quilt Shop Hop blog is doing a giveaway if you would like to mosey on over there and leave a comment.

Here is the lovely wool and twill journal I received last night at the Jo's Little Women Christmas get-together:

I'm afraid we were not a very lively group last night. Our leader said compassionately as she surveyed our sorry faces, "you all look so tired" lol. And so we were. Here is my journal. I digitized the embroidery design and stitched it out in teeny beeny cross stitch:

What, another one so soon?

But here is the story. My oldest cat, Ginger, or as we call her around the house, PoorPoorGinger, seemed to be approaching the Rainbow Bridge. Soon she would be talking things over with Dear Jane without any séance being necessary:

Then I fed her some Thanksgiving turkey. I swear she looked better almost instantly. She looked forward to her nightly turkey supply. They all did. Turkey, the miracle drug, is keeping PoorPoorGinger with us. So now I'm cooking an entire turkey for cats.

Very nice journal.

Hi Ginger.
Me and Chelsea hope you're feeling better.

Oh, what a good and caring pet owner you are! I hope Ginger is eating turkey for a long time to come.

Hmmm, wonder if turkey would have special effects on me?! Maybe I"ll have to make some!

Bless jer heart, I hope Ginger is doing OK on her turkey diet. Maybe she needs a change in food to turkey canned food? I started feeding my cats Wellness brand and I think it has made a difference. Hugs for Ginger!

Cat food is full of cornmeal, maybe what Ginger needs is protein. When the Vet suggested that my oldest cat might be diabetic and handed me a bag of "diabetic" catfood, I read the lable, yep, first ingredient was corn. She wouldn't even eat it!!

I agree with what June says. PoorPoorGinger might do well on "live" food, i.e uncooked chicken wings and raw meat. Don't have a fit! The bones are soft so won't hurt her.

You are a super kitty mama! Maybe PoorPoorGinger will even share some with you? :)

Oh you funny girl! But how those cats must adore you! Do you heat it for them with a little gravy? That's what I did while babysitting a friend's cat one TG. The cat got fat in the short time they were gone. Then she had to go cold turkey. Ha! Love the journals.

One fat turkey! That turkey is hilarious squeezed into the racks!
Good that kitty likes it. Anything to keep her going is good.

Love PoorpoorGinger! You really made me laugh, but I have a friend who used to buy her bad-tempered huge Magpie (black & white cat) a BBQ chicken, every Friday for a treat!

You are such a good cat Mom! When my Sasha got old I used to cook up chicken livers for her...made the house stink but she loved them!

How sweet to fix up a special meal for Ginger - and now that you know of turkey's curative properties, I'm sure she'd like it on the menu every day *s* The things we will do for our furry kids.

What a precious day-brightener. Don't we just spoil our fur babies rotten!!!!

Oh, Karen, I just giggled out loud about your poorpoorGinger visiting Dear Jane sentence!

And I'm certain the cats will respond positively and gratefully, kneading their little paws all over you. =) The journals you showed are great. The pineapple one would be perfect for recording a Baltimore or pineapple applique quilt.

I like both the journal you received and what you made. I am very partial to the pineapple design. And those stitches you made are so tiny!

I can't wait to tell my sisters about the turkey. They each have four cats (Franklin, Louise, Clifford, Baby Ralphie, Benny, Miss Bea, Charlie and Oliver) and would do anything for them. Oh, and I must not forget Karl that lives in my sisters carport. All the cats will be together for Christmas. Boy, would they have a Merry Turkey Christmas!
