Worried about the whereabouts of my tomcat Gaston, I made a rare visit to the end of the large backyard, calling for him. He answered back but didn't come. Uh oh, it wasn't him, it was this, completely buried in ivy with only her ears showing:
Isn't she a pistol? What coloring. Only six weeks old and out there all alone on the rough slope behind my yard, and with a limp. I never go back there. Somebody was looking out for her for sure. And of course after being gone all day long, Gaston appeared right after I got the kitten inside. Don't know what to call her. Pepper? Molly? Ivy?
The binding is done on the Jo's Little Women Swap Blocks quilt! Done done done.

I love the quilt and the border is stunning! I never would have picked that fabric but it is perfect...Wow! Blessings, marlene
The quilt and the kitten are both gorgeous. As for names, I vote for Molly or Ivy. Can't decide. She looks like a Molly, doesn't she?
Name her Pistol. I like the little quilt. It gives me another idea for my 4th of July quilt. I might change my mind for the borders.
I like Ivy. Love the borders on your quilt- would never have thought to do that, but it is fabulous! My quild took a field trip to the 3 Marietta quilt shops last Weds, had hoped you would be there. Sorry to have missed you.
The quilt is beautiful.
I think maybe Gaston was looking out for her out there until you came. I like the name Ivy or maybe Lucky.
I love Ivy :) I have a torty almost just like her I'm trying to give away, if you stop by my blog scroll about a week ago for kitten pics. Have fun with her! xoxo melzie
Ivy sure seems appropriate. She's sure a pretty little thing.
The quilt is beautiful, the border is really striking!
What a cutie! Sounds like Pepper might be appropriate for such a brazen kitten. :)
And I love how your quilt turned out. The border and scalloped edges are just stunning. I'm in awe.
Fantastic quilt! I'd say, name her "Pickles", as she'll probably always be getting in to one.
I love tortoiseshells, they're so unusual, and her markings are very nice.I like Ivy too, to remember where you found her.
The quilt is lovely and the scallops just set it off. I hope the binding wasn't too hard to do- I've always meant to try that.
She's lovely. She's definitely an Ivy.
The little kitty is adorable and very lucky to find a new home. I'm sure Gaston was keeping her safe.
I like Pepper or Molly. I have a Molly, she is 17 years old. Her color is black, brown and orange tabby. She's my little princess.
I love your Jo's quilt. It just beautiful with all the different colors and prints.
Thanks so much for sharing.
I've adopted a *calico* kitten also. She is about 5 or 6 weeks old now and we call her Dora. I have a yard cat that looks like yours and we call her "Tortie". Cats add so much to your household. Bless you for rescueing this one!
Pepper!
The quilt is gorgeous! I wish I had the patience to make those borders.
IVY! - That quilt looks great!
Beautiful quilt and beautiful cat! I think Lucky would be a good name as it's lucky you went up to the top of your garden. Poor thing :o)
Wow, that quilt is stunning! Love your new addition to the family.
Love the quilt - the border is superb - go for Pepper for the kitten, she's the image of one I used to have almost 30 years ago
karen....the kitty....hmmm...miss muddles?
the quilt....holymoly.....it is amazingfabulousglorious...
it just sings.....reminds me of the button jar my mom had when i was a child......the wonderful color and sparkle of all of those buttons spilled out on the floor...your quilt just makes me want to point and squeal and comment on every fabric.....honestly you are a scrappy genius.....
thanks for sharing....hugs..bb
First of all, the quilt is absolutely STUNNING!! That border is awesome, totally awesome!!! Now, as far as the kitten, she is truly adorable!!!!! We had a cat who looked a whole lot like her - our son named her Muffy. Her nickname (which stuck) was Murfuls. I'm big on names that mean something, though, so Ivy would be appropriate. Along the plant theme...she kinda looks like a Zinnia...
What a unique border for the quilt. I like it very, very much!
Thanks for visiting my blog. Your swap blocks quilt looks fantastic! And I'm in awe of anyone who attempts a Dear Jane....
Ivy, fur sure, Ivy. How could it be anything else?
*sweet* what a sweet little kitty girl. Gaston is a hero for sure. I hope there was a little saucer of milk or maybe a little tuna for a reward. Ivy seems like the perfect name.
Your Jo swap quilt is marvelous . . . I could look at it for hours and still not see everything.
That quilt is a work of art!
Ivy would be wonderful but like Molly too.
Awww, what a sweet little kitty! Your quilt is beautiful -- I love swap quilts!
Lovely! Love the border, and the scalloped edge! cheers...tammy
Just found your blog and it's great. (Love the kitty too, poor little might!)
I love the border for the quilt. I like Pepper for the kitty.
What a sweet and lucky kitty. You are so kind for taking her in. I think Ivy is a wonderful name for her. I am looking forward to seeing photos of her as she gets older!!! I dfefinitely need to come into Little Quilts when I get back to the ATL and visit with you :)
Oh look at the kitty. How sweet.
And goodness sakes that quilt is SIMPLY DIVINE!
Belatedly: Ivy.
Your quilt is stunning!!!

She's a keeper! I like the name, Ivy, also. Your quilt turned out fabulous!
I love the border.
She's darling, that nose marking is unforgettable!
I'd name her Imp, she looks the part :)
