WW Newbie
Thought I would get one of my little patriotic houses started before work. Pulled out this little tub of patriotic fabrics and just had this feeling of love for quilting and quilt fabrics LOL. Don't we all just love to quilt!
I want to thank everybody for their posts re my job woes. It was so great to hear from you. There's nothing like a network of quilters for fun and networking. There is a little possibility of improvement in my job, it would have disadvantages and advantages but it would get me out of the particular trouble spot for 1/2 the day anyway. How's that for a fast possible improvement? If it happens, it's due to work friends trying to help. Thank goodness for friends, both in blogland and workland.
Have been on Weight Watchers for the first time after not trying to diet for, gosh, at least 25 years. Counted the points, felt sad all week that it appears I could never again go through a drive-thru or indeed go to any restaurant or have my beloved standby, a peanut butter sandwich, but stuck to it and lost five pounds!

Congrats on the weight loss!! I have been dieting too--since July 10th. I know what you mean--it's the little things we have to give up! My summer demon is ice cream--'specially Baskin Robbins jamoca almond fudge. Darn, wish I hadn't reminded myself of that LOL!
Congrats on the weight loss! WW is pretty flexible :) xoxo melzie
Hey - stick with the WW points. My husband lost 20 lbs on it. Then he backed off and doesn't do it on the weekends. I really believe weight loss is a lifestyle change... You can do it--- I'm positive...
Melanie
I love your little stack of FQs. I think red/white/blue is my favorite color combination. Maybe because it was my beloved Granny's? I don't know. But your houses are going to be great. :-)
Good for you on the weight loss! I so need to do that! For some reason I can't find the internal motivation this time - and it will never happen without that.
I'm glad to hear that things are looking up at work. Being miserable at work can sour our entire lives so easily. What do people who don't have quilting to keep them sane do?
Oh dieting is so hard -- good for you for sticking with it. Yeah for some hope on the job front, too.
Fabric looks great -- look forward to seeing the blocks.
I know that feeling you describe: Sometimes I look at fabric and just think 'OH!OH!OH!! I could make ...'
Jeanne :)
I have that (or the darker version) fabric! (& a red white & blue UFO... to go with it. I think I planned it for backing & or border...)
Good luck with WW - I need to start "something."
I hope that the job situation makes a positive change for you. And I applaud your weight loss, I've been losing since June and am at 26lbs so far. Wish I didn't have so much more to go.
Dieting is tough but you are doing great and certainly on the right track. Glad work is looking better. Sewing has always been my sanity. It's what got me through the last couple years of teaching.
Congrats on the weight loss and a change in your work environment. You should be one happy girl today!
Love those patriotic fabrics - can't wait to see what you do with them.
Way to go on the weight loss!!!!
I've lost 32 lbs on WW this year and while I'm not officially counting points this summer I still try to consider the point value of all the foods I eat.
I'm not sure I could stay on it long term but I was amazed that it works so well. So far although I haven't been losing since I stopped writing each point down I haven't gained either and that's been good enough for the summer.
Once things settle back down I'll have to decide if I want to lose more and go back to counting points more strictly.
Good luck!
Good on you for doing so well with the WW. I have been dabbling with it for a few weeks now, but have not been nearly so successful. I need to buckle down and be serious with it, as I know WW works!
Do keep up updated with your progress. Congrats!
*hugs*
