Stickle Anticipation and House Parties

Two quilts made from my House Party pattern! Both use the 2009 Little Quilts set of Second Saturday Sampler blocks. This is the full-size set. It's so precious! I happened to be in the shop when the quilter chose her setting fabric from the Tanyard Creek line and again when she brought the finished quilt top in this past Saturday, so I was very lucky to get a photo of it:

This House Party, part of Show and Tell last night at Repro Divas, uses the 6" version of the SSS blocks, with several additional blocks. Notice how N. reversed the houses on each row. Gorgeous, gorgeous quilt:

It seemed to be non-productive all this time to think about the actual finish of the Dear Jane quilt when there were hundreds of beeny demented blocks and triangles to make. This past week, I counted up for the first time how many were left to do (53), and thought, well, I might actually get this thing done within my lifetime. In guarded anticipation, I made these last three blocks to complete the G row. That is seven rows completed:

I love this one. A very few of Jane's blocks seem too blocky/chunky to me. This was one, so I subdivided the solid corner blocks and the solid center shape:

Next post, Show and Tell photos (scads of them) from Repro Divas.

  7. Oh - Karen - I love the DJ blocks, esp. the fussy cut rose color and the bees - how fun!

The house quilts are great. OK - once I am retired I am going to make one. I have your little quilting girl done and hung on my wall. I will take a picture of her and post it later this week.

It must be so rewarding to see your patterns made and enjoyed by so many of us!
